We restore ourselves when we have the information and the support. My work is deeply influenced by Ayurveda, the science of life, a 5,000 year old practice of holistic medicine from India.I actually learned how to massage in Ayurveda first so my technique is different. Ayurveda uses the term svastha, loosely translated as health or wellness. The roots of the word svastha actually mean "standing in self". TRUE wellness is based on how well we know ourselves. That we are IN relationship with self. That includes being in relationship with our body and our nervous system. Healing happens when we come home to ourselves.
My work is also influenced by yoga. I am also a yoga teacher with a foundation of the 8 limbs of yoga. Yoga is WAY more than downward dog! Meditation. breath work, chanting are part of my personal practice and sometimes are in a session.
Lastly my work has been influenced by my own healing journey and the people/practices/teachers that have helped me.
This is a restoration practice. I'm not "fixing" you, or me. I'm teaching you how to be in relationship with you and your nervous system again. The more complex the issue, the more simple the medicine to start.
